SC wounded vets getting newly built adapted homes

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A nonprofit organization that builds homes for injured veterans is presenting keys to new homes to two South Carolina men and their families.

The organization Homes for Our Troops on Saturday is presenting former Army Staff Sgt. Ronell Bradley keys to a house in Columbia. He lost both legs and part of a hand in a 2005 explosion in Iraq.

The organization also is giving retired Marine Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jeff Pcola (puh-KOH’-luh) and his family a new home in Seneca. He suffered spinal, neck and internal injuries when hit by mortar fire in Iraq in 2003.

The nonprofit group has built 90 homes for severely disabled veterans across the country since 2004 and has committed to building 100 more.
