3 killed in rollover crash west of American Falls

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho State Police says an eight-passenger minivan carrying a group of 11 magazine salespeople went off Interstate 86 in southeastern Idaho and rolled several times, killing three people.

The ISP says the crash happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes six miles west of American Falls.

The crash killed the driver, 22-year-old Todd Shugart of Heath Springs, S.C., along with 20-year-old Kevin Lewis of Idaho and 22-year-old Christopher Middleton of Florida.

Officials say 24-year-old Charles Alderman of Illinois, 20-year-old Zakery Spencer of South Carolina were airlifted to a Pocatello hospital and 19-year-old Steven Agee of Idaho was flown to a Salt Lake City hospital. Their home towns were not immediately available.

Four others were hospitalized in American Falls while one sustained superficial injuries. None were wearing seat belts.
