Crowd in Columbia supporting their team in Omaha
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The congratulations for the South Carolina Gamecocks are pouring in as they win back to back national championships in the College World Series. The final out took place when Jackie Bradley, Jr. caught the final hit, ending the game with the Gamecocks beating Florida 5-2. The team poured out to the mound with a big celebration. Back here in Columbia, Five Points and the Colonial Life Arena were filled with those celebrating the big win. We had a chance to speak with some of those at the watch party in the arena. Check out what they had to say in the video player above. A celebration is planned for the returning champions Wednesday afternoon, and Mayor Steve Benjamin stated a big parade similar to last year’s celebration is planned, and the details will be hammered out Wednesday.
