Local Businesses Cash In on USC Win
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Midlands businesses are hoping the excitement of a second win for the University of South Carolina baseball team spills over into their cash registers. The Garnet & Black Traditions Store, located inside the Jewelry Warehouse on Harbison Boulevard in Columbia, can’t keep championship merchandise on the shelves. The story is similar in West Columbia at School Cuts Embroidery. Employees say they will print some 10,000 T-shirts for Gamecocks fans, as the school celebrates back-to-back victories in the College Baseball World Series. Officials say customers’ jubilation could lead to a much-needed economic boost for the state. They are looking forward to a ‘top-dollar bottom line.’
