COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — While the Gamecock baseball team catches its breath one day before Columbia’s parade honoring their second straight national championship, ABC Columbia posed the questions to players, how does winning a second straight title compare to winning the first one? Players’ answers varied. Senior team captain Brady Thomas said the first championship still hasn’t sunk in yet. Sophomore first baseman Christian Walker, who played the national championship series games with a fractured hamate bone in his left wrist, says winning the second one feels exactly the same as winning the first. Senior catcher Robert Beary says you can never beat the feeling of winning a national championship the first time. Senior third baseman Adrian Morales took the politically correct route. “Which one is better?” he said. “I think both are pretty special.”
