Coach Tanner on Fans: ‘Greatest in Country’

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Die-hard Gamecocks fan showed up in huge numbers to support the World Series Championship USC Baseball Team. Nearly 70,000 fans aligned Main, Laurel and Gervais Streets in downtown Columbia Friday afternoon. The gathering marked the second straight parade celebration for the College World Series Baseball Champion USC Gamecocks. From young and old to students who attend other schools, downtown was painted garnet and black. This year’s parade last roughly one and a half hours, much longer and more elaborate than last year’s. Twenty thousand more people showed up this year than last year. Some of the team’s number one fans include ‘The Hat Man,’ and ‘The Davis Boys.’ To see more, click on the video player icon.
