SC police accuse mom of prostitution of daughter

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Horry County police have charged a 43-year-old Loris woman with prostituting her 12-year-old daughter, who had been reported as a runaway.

Police Lt. Jamie DeBari told the SunNews of Myrtle Beach Thursday that Robbie Jean Blankenship is charged with unlawful neglect of a child and promotion or participation of prostitution of a minor. She is in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

DeBari says 25-year-old Danny Dewayne Hardee is charged with kidnapping, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a lewd act upon a child and criminal sexual conduct. He was arrested Wednesday and is also at the detention center. Jail officials didn’t know if Blankenship or Hardeee had attorneys.

DeBari says the girl was originally reported missing Sunday. She is now in protective custody.
