Wal-Mart looks to build new supercenter in Chester
CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — Wal-Mart Stores’ promised expansion in South Carolina includes a supercenter store in Chester.
Company spokesman Chris Neeley told The Herald of Rock Hill the company hopes to have the new store open next summer.
Chester County Economic Development Director Karlisa Parker says the new Walmart will likely be at the site of a former car dealership on the bypass around town.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced in May it would open at least a dozen new stores in South Carolina over the next five years, brining 4,000 new jobs to the state.
