DMV offers emergency contact info for SC drivers

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is allowing residents to enter emergency contact information that will be stored with their driving records.

The information won’t be printed on driver’s licenses and can only be accessed by law enforcement or medical personnel in an emergency.

Drivers can enter the addresses and work, home and cell phone numbers of two different contacts at the DMV’s website.
