SC officials investigate toddler who left daycare

LADSON, S.C. (AP) — The Department of Social Services is investigating a daycare center near Charleston where a toddler wandered away earlier this week.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that Marilyn Matheus with DSS says a 2-year-old girl walked away from the Noah’s Ark Daycare Center and Kindergarten in Ladson.

Matheus says the girl was found by someone who contacted the agency. The girl was not hurt.

The director of the daycare center said she could not talk about the situation.

Berkeley County sheriff’s spokesman Dan Moon says deputies were not called to the scene.
