Haley has $68,000 for her 2014 re-election bid

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley finished the second quarter of the year with nearly $68,000 on hand for a 2014 re-election bid.

Haley’s campaign finance report released Sunday shows the balance after donors gave the Republican just over $52,000. She spent more than $32,000 during the second quarter with almost $22,000 of that on fundraising efforts.

Out of state donors accounted for nearly 88 percent of Haley’s cash. In-state donors gave 12 percent or $6,300 of her total.

State Sen. Vincent Sheheen was Haley’s Democratic rival in the 2010 election. He had nearly $34,000 remaining in his account. Sheheen raised no money during the quarter and spent just over $10,000 with half of that going to the state Democratic Party.
