COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — There is no end in sight for some of the hottest weather of the summer in South Carolina. The National Weather Service has issued a second weather advisory for the Central Midlands area for Tuesday, from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Officials warn soaring heat index digits could reach the 100s and could bring with it hazardous weather conditions. Heat illnesses are likely, officials say. They advise staying indoors, staying hydrated and checking on neighbors and friends. It may feel even hotter in the rest of the state Tuesday, with the combination of heat and humidity making the heat index top out at 105 to 110 degrees for much of the afternoon.
