Support Pouring In For Dog Named “Cowboy”
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “It tore my heart our, I can’t stand to think that any human being, could take another living thing and treat it so cruely,” says Dillie Perry When Dillie Perry heard Cowboy’s story, she knew she had to help. “I wanted to donate money and i hope everyone else does too, to help him get better,” says Perry. On Monday, we told you how Cowboy was believed to be used as a bait dog. His teeth are broken and sawed off, he’s underweight and has a long way to go. Right now, Cowboy is under the care of PETSinc.,and he’s currently in a trial adoption program. “He’s going with a family, in the evenings, to see how well he does in their home and how well he does with their other dogs,” says Nicole Brown, an adoption counselor at PETSinc. Nicole Brown, says donations are pouring in for cowboy. “Donations have been excellent, their amazing,” says Brown. But Cowboy isn’t the only dog getting attention at PETSinc. Tuesday, we met one family bringing some special furry toys for the pets. “We don’t play with the stuffed animals anymore and we wanted to donate them to dogs, because they don’t have owners,” says Carley. Carley says there is a good reason for the donation. “To give them a friend to play with, because they’re lonely,” says Carley. Cowboy spent the day on Tuesday playing with the stuffed animal from Carley and her family, along with playing in a pool set up by PETSinc employees. Things are turning around for Cowboy, something Dillie Perry hopes to see continue. “He’s so sweet, he’s a beautiful dog and he would make somebody a great pet. He’s been treated so bad, and had such a hard life, I hope he has a good life from now on,” says Perry. Cowboy will undergo another evaluation by vets at PETSinc. on Wednesday, he could be placed in a permanent adoption home as soon as Thursday. If you would like to donate to Cowboy’s medical costs, you can do so by sending your donation to PETSinc. P.O. Box P.O. Box 6394 West Columbia, S.C. 29171.
