Former SC trooper indicated on child porn charges
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 34-year-old former state trooper has been indicted on child pornography charges.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles says a grand jury in Greenville indicted Randy Lynn Quinn on Tuesday on two counts of child pornography. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
The indictment comes a month after federal agents seized a computer from his Townville home. Quinn was fired from the South Carolina Highway Patrol on June 7 for improper conduct. Quinn had worked for the agency since March 2006.
The case was investigated by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Nettles says the case is part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative.
It wasn’t immediately known if Quinn has an attorney. A listed phone number for a Randy Quinn had been disconnected.
