Gingrich returning presidential campaign to SC
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is returning to South Carolina to resume his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
Gingrich visits the coast for a town hall meeting in North Charleston Tuesday evening sponsored by the Charleston Tea Party.
Then on Wednesday morning he speaks at a meeting of leaders of the state’s electric cooperatives in Charleston.
It’s Gingrich’s second visit to South Carolina as a declared candidate. He visited Columbia in late May. South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Primary is the first in the South.
Gingrich is coming to South Carolina from Iowa, where he plans to return for more campaigning next weekend.
