Cops: Man stabbed brother to death in Union County

JONESVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder after Union County deputies say he stabbed his brother during an argument.

Sheriff David Taylor says Anthony Bell and his brother, 51-year-old Gary Bell were visiting relatives in Jonesville when they began arguing.

Deputies say the men threw rocks and chunks of concrete at each other, then Anthony Bell started stabbing his older brother in the chest.

Gary Bell died a short time later at the hospital. The sheriff says he was stabbed more than once.

Anthony Bell is in jail after spending a few hours in the hospital. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.

The sheriff didn’t release details on why the brothers were arguing.
