Florence man arrested in weekend shooting death

FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) — A Florence man has been arrested and charged with murder in a weekend shooting death.

Florence County deputies say 18-year-old Cedric Antwan Peterson was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of murder.

Investigators say Peterson shot Nickolas Ross to death on Sunday in Florence. Deputies say the shooting happened after a fight earlier that day between Ross’ brother and one of Peterson’s friends.

Peterson was being held in the Florence County jail awaiting a court appearance. It wasn’t known if he had an attorney or when he would have a bond hearing.
