SC man charged with robbing 2 WVa credit unions

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A South Carolina man is facing charges that he robbed two West Virginia credit unions.

A federal grand jury indicted 48-year-old Samuel Glenn Garwood of South Carolina Tuesday on two counts of robbery.

The indictment says Garwood stole $4,191 from the Pioneer Federal Credit Union in South Charleston on May 26 and $3,460 from the Universal Federal Credit Union in Barboursville on June 1.

If convicted, Garwood faces up to 40 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
