Greenwood man wins $200,000, doesn’t tell wife

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Greenwood man didn’t tell his wife he won $200,000 in the South Carolina lottery. He just planned to let her know with their paid bills.

Lottery officials said Thursday the man won the prize in the $200,000 Cash scratch-off game. He asked the lottery not to release his name.

The man says he was alone in his car at a stoplight when he scratched the ticket. He said he needed to get his reading glasses to make sure he won.

The lottery says three more $200,000 prizes remain in the scratch-off game.
