Newberry deputies checking out car seat safety

NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) — Newberry County sheriff’s deputies are offering parents peace of mind this week.

Deputies are holding a free car seat safety check Friday at the sheriff’s office. They’ll make sure child safety seats are properly installed.

Before the inspections, deputies are undergoing 24 hours of classroom training on safe seat installation.

Deputies say the inspections only take a few minutes but could save a child’s life in a crash.
