ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Police have charged a 24-year-old Rock Hill man as the fifth suspect in connection with the shooting death of a North Carolina man in a vacant Rock Hill home.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported Thursday that Are’Tayevious Markee Govan turned himself in to police in connection with the July 20th killing of 21-year-old Chance Pate of Charlotte. Govan is charged with being an accessory before the fact, accessory after the fact, criminal conspiracy and with a weapons violation.

Police have charged 18-year-old Montez Laverry Rutledge, 20-year-old Jonathon Garrett Jones, and 20-year-old Audra Nicole Cunningham and a 17-year-old male with murder.

Warrants say the suspects lured Pate to the home and ambushed him. He was taken to a Rock Hill hospital where he died.
