Investigators in missing teen case at SC motel
GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) — Authorities investigating the disappearance two years ago of a New York State teenager are focusing on a Georgetown County motel.
Police tape was put up Monday across one of the rooms at the Sunset Lodge Hotel in Georgetown County.
Myrtle Beach police say they’re looking into several people of interest.
Authorities are investigating the disappearance of 19-year-old Brittanee Drexel. She was last seen leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel while on spring break in April 2009.
Authorities were expected Monday to make an announcement about developments in the case.
Drexel’s cell phone transmitted its last known signal the day after she disappeared near the South Santee River in Georgetown County.
