SC man sentenced to 6 years for attacking cop

YORK, S.C. (AP) — A Rock Hill man has been sentenced to six years in prison for assaulting a police officer.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported http://bit.ly/p315iZ that 48-year-old Danny Lee Thomas was convicted by a York County jury on a charge of assault on a police officer.

Rock Hill Police Sgt. Donald Scott Cribb said he was hit by Thomas several times on Sept. 4 when he found Thomas sitting on a boulder next to a road with his pants pulled down to his knees.

Cribb says he struggled with Thomas for several minutes until other officers arrived.
