Officials: Lightning caused Coastal Carolina fire
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Fire department officials say lightning caused the fire that damaged a residence hall at Coastal Carolina University in Conway.
Officials say no one was in the building when the fire started Sunday afternoon.
School officials say 58 students will have new housing assignments for the upcoming semester. Coastal Carolina housing director Steve Harrison says the school will be able to find school housing for the students.
Freshmen move into the dorms Aug. 19, while returning students move in the following two days.
