Bank, nonprofit discus credit in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A bank and a nonprofit group are teaming up to help people in North Charleston get information about improving their credit.

RBC Bank and The Homeownership Resource Center are holding a free consumer credit education forum Thursday at North Charleston City Hall.

Organizers say they hope the forum will help consumers identify practical and sustainable solutions to their credit problems.

Credit industry professionals are on hand to talk about how to rebuild credit, deal with debt collectors and manage credit cards. There is also information about preventing foreclosure and dealing with identity theft.

No registration is required for the free event.
