2 SC residents killed in crash with truck
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say two South Carolina residents died en route to a wedding as their car collided with a tractor-trailer.
Anderson County Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman says 21-year-old Dakota Mitchell and 18-year-old Brittany Schoen, both of Belton, died on impact about 4 p.m. Saturday. Both were wearing seat belts.
Troopers say a Freightliner struck Michell’s Chevrolet Malibu after Mitchell pulled out into an intersection to cross S.C. Highway 28 about 9 miles from Anderson.
The truck driver, 38-year-old Charleston Stephens of Benton, Tenn., was not injured.
