SC youth remembers little about school shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina teenager sentenced to six years for wounding a high school officer and bringing pipe bombs to Socastee High School says he doesn’t remember much about that day last year.

The 15-year-old juvenile was sentenced last week in Conway. He tells The Sun News http://bit.ly/qmty0k he can’t believe what he did or why he did it. In a journal and an Internet video he had mentioned killing dozens of people.

The boy told the newspaper by telephone he was shaking when he took the gun to school. He says he remembers wanting the officer to take the gun away.

The gun went off when the officer reached across a desk to disarm him.

The youth says what he did was wrong and he both needs and wants help.
