Wilmington’s oldest building, 2 others for sale

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — The oldest building in Wilmington is for sale, as well as two other nearby buildings in the city’s downtown historic district.

The StarNews of Wilmington reports (http://bit.ly/nVH0So ) that the Wright family is selling the Mitchell-Anderson House, which was built about 1738. Listing agent John Horton says the frame building behind the house also is for sale. Also on the market is the Hogg-Anderson House.

The Mitchell-Anderson House was built for Edward Mitchell, carpenter and planter who was a native of Charleston, S.C. That house and the building behind it are listed at $425,000. The Hogg-Anderson House is listed at $299,000.

Horton says the Wright family hopes buyers will preserve and restore the buildings, preferably as homes. All three are now commercial properties.
