Charleston Southern preps for No. 5 Florida State
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Patrick Nix says there is no way for him to share the experience of playing in hostile stadiums with the Charleston Southern team that’s headed for a showdown with No. 5 Florida State.
The offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers and former Auburn quarterback helped the Tigers to an 11-0 season in 1993 and spent years as offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech and Miami. Nix said the Buccaneers have shown a steady approach in practice as they prepare to face the second highest ranked Bowl Subdivision opponent in school history after opening the 2009 season against then-No. 1 Florida.
Nix said experience is the only way his offense can learn how to deal with the game at Tallahassee.
