SC couple loses home, has to surrender 3 dogs
SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Simpsonville couple whose home was foreclosed also lost something equally as valued — their three dogs.
WYFF-TV reports (http://bit.ly/nobQ4p ) that Genie and Bill Jordan’s home was foreclosed after he was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease. First, the military veteran lost his job, then he and his wife say they went through bankruptcy and foreclosure.
Genie Jordan recently had spinal surgery, and the couple’s only source of income now is disability checks.
Bill Jordan says he continues to look for work.
The Jordans are moving to a small apartment so they had to turn over their three golden retrievers to the Greenville Humane Society, a no-kill shelter. Two of the dogs were adopted into one home, and one dog into a second home.
