SC truck cleared after search by terror task force
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — A driver is back on the road after his moving truck was stopped and searched by an anti-terrorism law enforcement task force in Anderson County.
The search happened Monday on Interstate 85 when a moving truck was pulled over by county sheriff’s deputies who had received a bulletin from the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The task force brings together state and local police along with federal agencies like the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. Sheriff John Skipper says he can’t disclose the reason for the stop, because the case is being handled by federal agencies.
Traffic was held up in both directions while the truck was inspected, although nothing suspicious was found. By the early evening, the driver had been given permission to continue on his way.
