SC political leaders to talk to real estate agents

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The leaders of South Carolina’s Democratic and Republican parties will address hundreds of real estate agents during their annual conference.
South Carolina Realtors’ annual meeting starts Wednesday at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville. About 320 real estate agencies from across the state are expected to attend.
Organizers say the three-day conference will include a political forum with Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly and Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian.
Realtors’ president Rusty Garrett says the party leaders will share their thoughts and concerns about real estate legislation. He says homeownership is important to the state’s economy and residents’ quality of life.
South Carolina Realtors has dubbed the three-day event its first UnConference. Participants in brainstorming sessions will also serve as instructors.
