SC man shot to death following dog argument

WATERLOO, S.C. (AP) — Laurens County officials are investigating a shooting death that apparently followed an argument about a dog.

Coroner Nick Nichols says 62-year-old Samuel Thomas of Waterloo died late Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Lt. Judy Stiles says Thomas was arguing with a man before the shooting. No charges have been filed.

An autopsy was planned Friday.
