PR Specialist on Anthonys’ Interview: ‘Smart Move’
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The third and final exclusive interview with Casey Anthony’s parents broadcast on the Dr. Phil Show, still leaves many questions; however, a Midlands public relations specialist says they did the right thing by coming forward with their side of the story. CEO of Davis Public Relations and Marketing in Columbia, Kelly Davis, agrees with George and Cindy Anthony coming forward with their feelings about the murder of their granddaughter, Caylee, in 2008, and the subsequent murder trial of their daughter, Casey, who was acquitted of the crime this summer. Davis believes no matter how the public feels about the Anthonys’ first televised interviews, coming forward was a good move. She says three key elements drew in the public about this case: the fact that it involved the death of a child; the trial itself; and the aftermath, including unanswered questions. Davis believes the exposure may provide closure for the Anthonys. She encourages the public to also take this as an opportunity to move on. Casey Anthony has been ordered to pay at least $97,000 in fines for lying to authorities during the trial. She remains on probation in the state of Florida.
