2 charged in killing of SC man as he opened door
LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Lexington County deputies say they have charged two men with murder in the death of a 64-year-old man shot in the head as he answered the door at a Gaston home.
Investigators say 29-year-old Charles Plumley had bought crack at the home before and arrived Wednesday night with 20-year-old Shawn Sharp to rob someone of drugs and money.
Deputies say the men put on masks and shot Leon Justice in the head when he answered the door. They then held the owner of the home at gunpoint and forced her to give them crack and money.
Investigators say three other people, including Plumley’s 36-year-old brother, were arrested for trying to help the other men hide the crimes.
It wasn’t immediately clear if any of the suspects had attorneys.
