Fall bike rally starts at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — The fall motorcycle rally for the Myrtle Beach area is under way.
The five-day rally that started Wednesday is known as Hurricane Alley. It is organized by the Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson dealership.
Organizers expect attendance to go up this year after a boycott of Myrtle Beach by motorcycle riders because the city had passed an ordinance in 2008 requiring bikers to wear helmets.
The South Carolina Supreme Court struck down the ordinance last year.
Horry County officials say they have issued permits to 28 vendors.
