Gingrich finishes 2-day campaign swing in SC

BLUFFTON, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is wrapping up a two-day swing through South Carolina with a town hall meeting and screening of his new documentary in Beaufort County.

The former U.S. House speaker will meet Wednesday afternoon with residents at the Sun City Hilton Head retirement community. Gingrich will then attend a showing of his documentary “A City Upon a Hill” at the Coligny Theatre on Hilton Head Island.

Gingrich spent the night Tuesday at the Governor’s Mansion, where he and his wife were guests of Gov. Nikki Haley after a day campaigning in Columbia. The governor is hosting some GOP presidential candidates as she decides who to support in the state’s first-in-the-South primary in January.
