Greer man dies 2 months after bar fight

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A 43-year-old Greer man has died from injuries suffered in a far fight nearly two months ago.

Greenville County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis says Robert Bridwell died Tuesday afternoon from a blood clot. Ellis says after an autopsy on Wednesday, the death was ruled a homicide.

Ellis says Bridwell was injured in a barroom fight in Travelers Rest on Aug. 7.

Bridwell had been in various hospital settings since the fight.

David Darnell was charged with aggravated assault and battery Aug. 29.
