Walking to Beat Alzheimer’s

COLUMBIA S.C. (WOLO) — When Robert and Susan Miller wed 36 years ago, neither of them suspected he would become totally dependent upon her due to Dementia. But that’s exactly what happened. Robert was diagnosed with early onset of the disease almost a year ago. Doctors say it trikes before age 65 and progresses quickly. That’s one of the reasons Susan got a team of supporters together to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2011, happening at Finlay Park Saturday, October 15. Officials say 70% of donations benefit caregivers who work tirelessly to tend to patients. The remaining 30% goes toward researching a cure. For information on how you can participate in the Walk visit ALZ.org.
