COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — State Highway Patrol offers helpful tips to ensure motorists respond safely when driving in foggy conditions. Safety officials say it’s best not to drive in foggy conditions at all, but if you have to, here are a few guidelines: *Reduce speed and increase distance between you and other vehicles *If you have trouble seeing oncoming vehicles, move to white solid line on edge of road (fog line) instead of center line *Use headlight; however do not put them on high beam. Doing so reflects like back onto your vehicle, and you are essentially ‘blinding yourself’ with your own headlights. Highway Patrol says following these rules of the road could save your life.
