Greenville assistant principal faces sex charges
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — An assistant principal at a Greenville County elementary school has been arrested charges of having sex with a student 25 years ago.
Fifty-three-year-old William Terry Broadus of Taylors is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and committing or attempting to commit a lewd act on a minor.
A warrant says the encounters occurred between 1984 and 1986. When the victim was 14 and 15 years old.
Sheriff’s deputies say the allegations involve a student at Lakeview Middle School. The school district says Broadus was a teacher at the school between 1983 and 1988.
Broadus is an assistant principal at Chandler Creek Elementary School. He was placed on administrative leave last month.
Broadus was being held in the Greenville County jail. It was unclear if he has an attorney.
