$99 Mllion Hospital to Bring Healthcare Services, Jobs

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO) — Officials Palmetto Health celebrate the groundbreaking of a brand new $99 million hospital, promising hundreds of jobs for South Carolinians. Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, a 76-bed full-service community hospital with 24/7 emergency care, will serve the residents of Irmo, Harbison, Chapin, Dutch Fork and surrounding areas who currently are traveling downtown for acute care services. The hospital will provide state-of-the-art inpatient, medical, surgical, and emergency care near residential and commercial neighbors. Medical care offered include: inpatient units, and intensive care unit, labor and delivery unit, newborn nursery, six operating rooms and diagnostic and treatment services including laboratory, imaging, pharmacy and more. The hospital is scheduled to open in December 2013 and promises an initial 250 jobs to the Midlands with more work opportunities as the facility expands in the future.
