Gamecocks’ WR Ellington has slight hamstring pull
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina receiver Bruce Ellington has a slight hamstring pull and his status for the game with Tennessee is unknown.
Ellington was in a yellow jersey and did not practice Wednesday and walked with a noticeable limp. Ellington is the 14th-ranked Gamecocks’ two-sport standout in basketball as well as football.
Ellington had a 61-yard touchdown run against Kentucky. He was also used several times in the wildcat formation for the Gamecocks in the 14-12 victory over Mississippi State.
Ellington was the basketball team’s leading scorer last season.
Ellington will be a factor in the South Carolina offense as the Gamecocks play for the first time this Saturday without injured start Marcus Lattimore, who tore a knee ligament at Mississippi State.
