GOP hopeful Newt Gingrich campaigning on SC coast

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is campaigning on the South Carolina coast.

Gingrich is scheduled to attend a Saturday barbecue in Myrtle Beach sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Tea Party group.

The former House speaker is looking for votes in advance of South Carolina’s Jan. 21 Republican presidential primary. It is the first primary in the South.
