Haley to be honored for work on Heritage Classic

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Gov. Nikki Haley is being honored for helping find a new title sponsor for the Heritage Classic golf tournament.

The Sea Pines Men’s Club hosts a luncheon on Hilton Head Island for the governor on Wednesday. A representative of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is attending so the group can also thank the senator for his help earlier this year in securing a sponsor.

The tournament announced in June that RBC will serve as its new title sponsor and the tournament will be called the RBC-Heritage. Boeing Co., which opened a $750 million assembly plant in North Charleston earlier this year, is the local sponsor.

RBC is the name used by the umbrella company that includes the Royal Bank of Canada and its subsidiaries.
