Former Utah Gov. Huntsman campaigning in SC

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is in the second day of a three-day campaign swing through South Carolina.

Huntsman appears Thursday at a breakfast in Myrtle Beach sponsored by the state Republican Party. He appears later Thursday at Converse College in Spartanburg.

On Friday, he will visit Winthrop University in Rock Hill.

The former Utah governor is looking for votes in advance of South Carolina’s Jan. 21 Republican Primary, which is the first in the South.

The winner of the South Carolina primary has gone on to win the GOP nomination every presidential election year since 1980.
