SC man charged after trying to move fire truck

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Goose Creek man has been arrested after unsuccessfully trying to move a fire truck that was blocking his car.

Authorities say Summerville firefighters responded to a medical emergency at an apartment complex early Wednesday. They said when they came out they found 22-year-old Antoine Hamilton at the wheel trying to move the fire truck.

Summerville Battalion Chief Ronnie Bryant said Hamilton didn’t have much luck because he couldn’t get the air break off on the truck. Hamilton was charged with interfering with public property.

Bryant says when firefighters respond to an emergency, they park wherever they can, sometimes blocking in vehicles.
