SC Air Guard takes civilian employers on Chinook

McENTIRE JOINT NATIONAL GUARD BASE, S.C. (AP) — Members of the South Carolina Air National Guard are giving about four dozen of their civilian employers a peek into the world of the so-called “Weekend Warrior.”
Brig. Gen. Scott Williams, commander of the 168th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, is hosting Saturday’s event. Williams says he wants employers to know how much the Guard appreciates their support for the men and women in the Guard.
There are about 1,500 airmen who belong to the South Carolina Air National Guard, who live and work full time in civilian jobs throughout the state.
The employers were scheduled to gett a briefing from Williams, a tour of the base located outside Eastover and flights on a Chinook transport helicopter.
