SC deputies: Suspect robbed same pharmacy twice

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina law officers say a suspect is in jail awaiting a bond hearing after trying to rob the same drug store twice in less than a week.

Richland County sheriff’s deputies say 47-year-old Anthony Todd was arrested Friday after employees at a CVS Pharmacy in Columbia recognized him from a similar stick-up four days earlier.

Deputies say store employees reported that the thief in the earlier robbery presented a note claiming to have a bomb in the bag he was carrying and demanded prescription drugs.

Richland deputies say they rushed to the drug store after a 911 call from employees Friday and arrested Todd after a short foot chase. Deputies say they found Todd with a note demanding prescription drugs and that he had a bomb.
