Suspect in rape of Neb. student wants case tossed
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A man accused of raping a Nebraska college student has asked a judge to throw out the case against him.
A request filed by Joshua Keadle (KEE’-duhl) in Nemaha County District Court says no evidence has been presented to support claims he sexually assaulted the Peru State student over Halloween 2010.
Keadle is scheduled to stand trial Dec. 5 on charges of sexual assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats. A hearing on his request is scheduled for Wednesday.
Keadle has also been charged in Dodge County in the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in 2008. He’s pleaded not guilty. No trial date has been set.
Both cases against Keadle, originally from Swansea, S.C., were filed after his arrest in the December disappearance of Peru State student Tyler Thomas.
